Sage Broda posted a shutout, stopping all 15 of the Oswego Stampede shots throughout the game. The New England Stars took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Michael Lempiainen and never looked back.
In the first period, Lempiainen opened the scoring for the Stars with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 14:28 with helpers from his linemates, Lapointe and Gauvin.
In the third, Flynn deposited a goal at 3:01 with assists from Cormier and Norris. Gudaitis put in a goal at 7:58 with helpers from Conlon and Archambeault.
New England’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Broda’s shutout, as he stopped all 15 of the shots he faced. Broda’s counterpart, White, also had a big night, managing to stop 38 of 41, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (4-1-0-0).
