Tyson Gudaitis and Hunter Norris had big nights with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) and 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) respectively as the New England Stars crushed the Long Beach Sharks 7-0 in a home game at Long Beach Municipal Ice Arena in New England. As well, Andrew Ghimpeteanu posted a shutout, stopping all 10 of the Sharks shots throughout the game. The New England Stars took the lead early in the first on a goal from Zachary Cormier and never looked back.
Zachary Cormier delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Aidan Conlon had a busy night with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the first, Cormier opened the scoring for the Stars with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 3:26 with helpers from Connolly and Norris. Gudaitis deposited a goal at 8:00 with helpers from his linemates, Wilson and Gauvin.
In the second, Gatley put in a goal at 8:12 with assists from his teammates Cormier and Connolly. Conlon scored a goal at 13:23 with assists from Norris and Gudaitis.
During the third period, Gudaitis netted a goal at 6:54 with helpers from Norris and Glover. Caisse put in a goal at 11:37 with assists from Gudaitis and Lovejoy. Norris deposited a goal at 16:32 with helpers from Wilson and Conlon.
New England’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Ghimpeteanu’s shutout, as he stopped all 10 of the shots he faced. Ghimpeteanu’s counterpart, Vutci, also had a big night, managing to stop 49 of 56, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (1-0-0-0).
