During the first, Herling opened the scoring for the Stars with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:56 with helpers from teammates Glover and Conlon.
In the second period, Gudaitis netted a goal at 5:24 with assists from his linemates, Norris and Wilson. Gudaitis deposited a goal at 7:55 with helpers from Conlon and Flynn.
During the third, Norris put in a goal at 0:26 with assists from Wilson and Conlon. Norris scored a goal at 3:03 with a helper from defenseman Flynn.
New England’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Ghimpeteanu’s shutout, as he stopped all 20 of the shots he faced. On the other hand, Ghimpeteanu’s counterpart, Souza, and the Generals’ defense has seen better nights allowing 3 goals in 15 shots.
