In the third, Chauvin netted a goal at 13:23 with helpers from Ouellette and Plummer. Gatley answered for the Stars with a goal at 19:52 with assists from Flynn and Archambeault.
New England’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Ghimpeteanu’s big night as he stopped 30 of the 33 shots he faced. Ghimpeteanu’s counterpart, Errico, also had a big night, managing to stop 32 of 37, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (24-7-2-0).
