St. Amand answered for the Islanders with a goal at 16:07 with assists from his linemates, Constable and Conway. Lovejoy quickly followed with a goal at 17:56 with helpers from Flynn and Lapointe.
New England’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Pesek as he stopped 12 of the 15 shots he faced. Pesek’s counterpart, Lake, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 32, but ultimately fell short.
