During the third period, St. Amand finally put the Islanders on the board with a goal at 6:19 with assists from his linemates, Therrien and Kervinen.
New England’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Broda’s big night as he stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced. Broda’s counterpart, Maki, also had a big night, managing to stop 34 of 36, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (34-9-8-4).
