During the first, Faia opened the scoring for Northeast with a goal at 1:42. Wilson answered for the Stars with a goal at 10:06 with helpers from his linemates, Gudaitis and Norris. Gauvin quickly followed with a goal at 11:05 with assists from Conlon and Gudaitis.
In the second, Gudaitis put in a goal at 3:38 with a helper from defenseman Conlon. Kelly answered for Northeast with a goal at 14:39 with an assist from defenseman Couture. Barter quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 14:52 with a helper from Gauvin.
During the third, Barter netted a goal at 4:11 with assists from his linemates, Gauvin and Johnson. Marcola answered for Northeast with a goal at 8:46 with a helper from defenseman Lepage.
New England’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Moon’s big night as he stopped 25 of the 28 shots he faced. Moon’s counterpart, Souza, also had a big night, managing to stop 29 of 34, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (31-8-2-0).
