In the first, Norris opened the scoring for the Stars with a goal at 9:29 with helpers from his linemates, Johnson and Caisse. Flynn quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:07 with helpers from his teammates Gatley and Archambeault. Gauvin quickly followed with a goal at 11:53 with assists from his linemates, Lapointe and Barter.
In the second period, Gatley scored a goal at 11:56 with assists from Archambeault and Cormier. Carlock finally put Long Beach on the board with a goal at 14:56 with helpers from Bedard and Bergman.
New England’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Pesek as he stopped 10 of the 11 shots he faced. Pesek’s counterpart, Cortez, also had a big night, managing to stop 52 of 56, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (28-8-2-0).
