In the first, Flynn opened the scoring for the Stars with a goal at 13:21 with a helper from his teammate Gatley. Faia answered for Northeast with a goal at 18:00 with helpers from Fuller and Hammel.
During the second period, Braley put in a goal at 3:21 with an assist from defenseman Fuller. Archambeault answered for New England with a goal at 5:34 with a helper from fellow Stars forward Barter. Norris netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:12 with assists from Conlon and Gauvin.
In the third, Archambeault put in a goal at 9:46 with helpers from his linemates, Burnham and Norris. Gatley deposited a goal at 16:54 with an assist from Lempiainen.
The Stars’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Pesek’s big night as he stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced. Pesek’s counterpart, Sesock, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 32, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (25-8-2-0).
