The New England Stars come out of the weekend still undefeated on the season. The Stars
opened up their season on September 10th in Biddeford, ME against the Maine Wild where they
came away with a sizable 5-2 win with goals by Aidan Conlon, Cole Archambeault, Nick
Johnson, Ian Gately, and Michael Lempiainen. Marcus Mitchel got the win in net stopping 24 of
26 shots by the Wild.
The Stars then hosted a 2 game series vs. the Jersey Shore Wildcats with their home opener on
September 17th at Skate 3 Arena in Tyngsboro, MA. Game 1 of the series resulted in a 2-1 win
for the Stars with goals by Derek Lovejoy Aidan Conlon. Dom Lamanno got the win in net
stopping 23 of 24 shots.
Game 2 of the weekend series vs. the Wildcats went to overtime resulting in a 4-3 win over the
Wildcats. The game started with a goal by John Krapian 4:34 into the start of the game. The
Stars continued their scoring in the second period with a goal 1:12 into the period by Michael
Lempiainen and 5:36 in with a goal by Nick Johnson. The Wildcats responded with an
unassisted goal by John Minnich 14:20 into the period. Dylan Plsek was next to score for the
Wildcats at 18:23 remaining in the period. The Wildcats would eventually tie the game at 3-3
with a goal by Nikita Penzov 14:30 into the 3rd period. The game came to an end with Brandon
Hammner netting his first goal of the season 1:17 into the overtime period. Greg Moon got the
win in net stopping 28 of 31 shots.
The Stars host the Long Beach Sharks this upcoming weekend in a 2 game series with a game
Saturday, September 24th at 3:50p and Sunday September 25th at 1:20p. If you cannot make it
