The Stars were home this weekend hosting the Roc City Royals in their final two matchups of the regular season. The two games were scheduled for Saturday, November 19 at 3:50p, and Sunday November 20, at 9:30a.
Saturday started with the Royals opening up the scoring just under halfway through the period. The stars would respond with a goal by Ryan Paul before the end of the period to enter the 2nd, tied at 1 a piece. The 2nd period would be all Stars with goals coming from Tyson Gudaitis and John Krapian. The Stars would put 4 more on the board before Roc City would respond 15:22 in to the period. John Krapian would notch another goal just over a minute later securing the Stars win and a hat-trick for the night for Krapian. Dom Lamanno got the win in ent turning away 27 of 29 shots faced. Notable players of the night were Brandon Hammner with a goal and 3 assists, Cole Archambault with a goal and 2 assists, and John Krapian with the hat-trick.
The Stars would continue where they left off Sunday morning putting up a 7-0 first period. The 2nd period would be very similar adding another 5 goals to the Royals 1. The Stars would wrap up the 3rd period with 3 more goals resulting in a 15-1 final. Sage Broda and Greg Moon would split the time in net giving the Stars the win. Notable players of the game were Nolan Arbuckle with a goal and 3 assists, Derek Lovejoy with a goal and 2 assists, Tyson Gudaitis with a goal and 4 assists, Zach Burnham with 3 assists, Ian Gately with a hat-trick and 1 assist, and leading the charge again was John Krapian with a Hat-Trick and 3 assists!
“We played two very good games on the weekend. Saturday’s score was not indicative of the closeness of the game as it was 3-1 heading into the third. Sunday we played hard from start to finish. In games like that it is easy to pick up bad habits but we played the right way for 60 minutes. It’s nice to have a break and then we will be back at it in a week.” – added Head Coach Darryl Green
The Stars Go on Thanksgiving break with their next games being 12/2 and 12/3 in a home-and-home weekend series vs. the Northeast Generals.
