In the first period, Gulick opened the scoring for Oswego with a goal at 7:08 with helpers from his teammates Moukoulis and Berry. Herling answered for the Stars with a goal at 9:58 with helpers from Cormier and Lempiainen.
In the second, Norris put in a goal at 0:21 with assists from Lempiainen and Flynn. Gudaitis deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:04 with helpers from Lempiainen and Flynn.
In the third period, Simmonds answered for Oswego with a goal at 2:30 with assists from Hart and Watterson. Archambeault answered for the Stars with a goal at 16:00 with a helper from defenseman Lovejoy.
New England’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Ghimpeteanu as he stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced. Ghimpeteanu’s counterpart, White, also had a big night, managing to stop 37 of 41, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (11-3-2-0).
