In the second period, Jefferys finally put the Islanders on the board with a goal at 12:25 with assists from teammates Doyon and Marston. Kervinen quickly followed with a goal at 13:40.
In the third, Gudaitis answered for New England with a goal at 4:28 with a helper from fellow Stars forward Wilson. Conlon scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:39 with assists from Norris and Valinder. Flynn netted a goal at 16:17 with helpers from Gatley and Lempiainen.
The Stars’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Moon as he stopped 21 of the 23 shots he faced. Moon’s counterpart, Maki, also had a big night, managing to stop 36 of 40, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (22-7-2-0).
