The Stars crushed the Wild 6-1

The New England Stars' offense had a big night, peppering the Maine Wild with 47 shots throughout the game. The New England Stars took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Ryan Gauvin and never looked back.

James Wilson contributed with 2 goals and Derek Flynn delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first period, Flynn opened the scoring for the Stars with a goal at 6:59 with helpers from Burnham and Herling. Gauvin netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:38 with assists from his teammates Barter and Conlon. Webb finally put the Wild on the board with a goal at 12:58 with helpers from Murphy and Decarolis. Wilson quickly followed with a goal at 13:57 with an assist from Norris.

During the second period, Gatley deposited a goal at 1:07 with a helper from defenseman Flynn. Wilson scored a goal at 3:28 with assists from his linemates, Gudaitis and Norris.

In the third, Lempiainen put in a goal at 17:44 with helpers from his linemates, Gudaitis and Gatley.

New England’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Moon as he stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced. Moon’s counterpart, Santarosa, also had a big night, managing to stop 41 of 47, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (23-7-2-0).
