Stars grab 4 points vs. East Coast Minutemen!

The New England Stars had two games this past week both first the East Coast Minutemen.

On Wednesday, February 22, the Stars traveled to Essex Sports Center to face-off vs. the East Coast Minutemen at 8:30 PM. Brendan Miller got the scoring going for the stars with a goal 9:28 into the first assisted by Nathan Butkowski and Zach Cormier. The Minutemen would tie the game at 1 before entering the 2nd period. Tyson Gudaitis would give New England the go-ahead goal just 1:14 into the 2nd period. the goal was assisted by Ian Gately and Ryan Paul. Derek Flynn extended the lead to 2 with an assist by Nick Johnson and Brendan Miller at the 8:00 mark into the period. John Krapian would continue the scoring for the stars with a goal 13:11 into the period, assisted by Brandon Hammner and Aidan Conlon. Tyson Gudaitis would notch goal number 5 for the Stars 16:51 into the period assisted by Michael Lempiainen and Derek Lovejoy. The Minutemen would try to stop the bleeding with a goal at 18:23 only to be negated just 0:12 later by Ryan Paul and Ian Gately. The 3rd period would be all New England, starting with a goal by Ian Gately 3:46 in, assisted by Derek Flynn and Cole Archambeault. Ian Gately would strike again, this time wrapping up the scoring for the night with a goal 18:06 in assisted by Tyson Gudaitis and Derek Lovejoy. The Final buzzer would sound giving the Stars the 8-2 victory. Greg Moon stopped 19 of 21 shots faced.

On Friday, February 24, The Stars returned home to host the Minutemen in game 2 of the week series. The Minutemen, looking for revenge, found the back of the net first with a goal just 8:00 into the first period. Stars’ Aidan Conlon would respond just over 2:00 later tying the game before the end of the period. His goal assisted by Alex Pilatsky and Ryan Gauvin. The Stars would once again take full control of the 2nd period with 4 goals! Alex Pilatsky would score the 2nd goal for New England, assisted by Ryan Gauvin and Aidan Conlon 5:03 in. Ian Gately would notch goal 3 just over two minutes later, assisted by Aidan Conlon and Cole Archambeault. Ryan Paul would give the Stars the 3 goal lead scoring 8:11 in, assisted by Cole Archambeault and Aidan Conlon. Tyson Gudaitis would wrap up the scoring in the 2nd with a goal 16:22 in assisted by Nolan Arbuckle and Aidan Conlon. Michael Lempianen would get goal 6 for New England in the 3rd en route to a 6-1 victory. His goal assisted by Peter Menzies. Dom Lamanno stopped 33 of 34 shots faced.

The Stars have a home-and-home series this weekend verse the Northeast Generals. On Friday, March 3rd, they face-off in Canton at 8:30 PM, then return home on Saturday, March 4th, for a 3:50 PM start.  All Stars games can be watched live on Hockey TV!
