Stars Capture 3 Points vs. Maine Wild over the Weekend

The New England Stars had a home and home vs. the Maine Wild this past weekend.

ON Saturday, January 28th, The Stars hosted the Maine Wild in a 3:50 PM start. The Wild would get on the board first just 1:21 which would give the Stars a little wake up call. The Stars would respond with a goal 8:24 in by John Krapian, assisted by Zach Burnham and Nolan Arbuckle. The Stars would take the go ahead lead 12:03 in to the period with a goal by Brandon Hammner, assisted by Tim Paige and Ryan Gauvin on the power play. The Stars would continue where the left off int he 2nd period with John Krapian scoring just 2:14 in to the period, assists going to Cole Archambeault and Nolan Arbuckle. Tyson Gudaitis would score next for New England 13:13 in, assists going to Brandon Hammner and Ian Gately. Brandon Hammner increase the lead to 4 16:28 in to the 2nd period, assisted by John Krapian and Cole Archambeault. Cole Archambeault would tally goal number 6 for New England just under two minutes later, this goal assisted by Derek Lovejoy and Alex Pilatsky. John Krapian would lock in the hat-trick with a goal with 59 seconds remaining in the period, assisted by Cole Archambeault. A scoreless 3rd would give New England the 7-1 victory. Dom Lamanno stoped 29 of 30 shots faced for New England.

On Sunday, January 29th, the Stars traveled to Biddeford for game 2 on the weekend vs. the Maine Wild in an 11:00 AM start. The Stars would continue where they left off scoring just 1:25 in. It would be Ryan Gauvin finding the back of the net with assists going to Tim Paige and John Krapian. John Krapian would keep his scoring touch going, extending the Stars lead to 2 15:3o in to the period, assisted by Tim Paige. A scoreless 2nd would give the Stars a 2 goal lead heading in to the 3rd period. The Wild would capitalize on the power play 1:36 in to the third to shorten the lead to 1. The Wild would tie the game at 2 a piece to force overtime. The Wild would capitalize 1:14 in to overtime to get the win. Sage Broda with 28 saves in net for New England.

The Stars are on the road next weekend traveling to the Long Beach Sharks for a 2 game series. They play on Friday, February 3rd at 8:30 PM then again Saturday, February 4th at 8:00 PM. All Stars games can be watched live on Hockey TV!
