Johnson's hat trick helped the Stars crush the Wild 10-1

Nick Johnson led the way with a hat trick as the New England Stars crushed the Maine Wild 10-1 in a home game at Skate 3 Ice Arena in New England. Derek Flynn also had a big night with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists). Furthermore, the New England Stars' offense had a big night, peppering Maine with 41 shots throughout the game. The New England Stars took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Nick Johnson and never looked back.

Connor Barter delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Cole Archambeault did his part, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

During the first, Barter opened the scoring for the Stars with a goal at 6:31. Johnson netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 8:39 with a helper from Barter. Archambeault quickly followed with a goal at 9:51 with helpers from teammates Gatley and Lovejoy. Johnson quickly followed with a goal at 10:36 with an assist from defenseman Flynn. Lovejoy netted a goal at 15:30 with assists from Caisse and Burnham. Wilson scored a goal at 18:01 with helpers from his linemates, Norris and Gudaitis.

During the second, Johnson deposited a goal at 3:29 with assists from Gauvin and Flynn. Barter netted a goal at 18:35 with helpers from Flynn and Connolly. Lempiainen quickly followed with a goal at 18:59 with helpers from his linemates, Archambeault and Gatley.

During the third period, Dysart finally put Maine on the board with a goal at 4:13 with assists from his linemates, Mehall and Ledbetter. Flynn answered for New England with a goal at 14:50 with helpers from Archambeault and Gatley.

The Stars’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Ghimpeteanu as he stopped 21 of the 22 shots he faced. Ghimpeteanu’s counterpart, Jenkins, also had a big night, managing to stop 31 of 41, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the New England Stars’ record to (1-0-0-0).
